History of Katal
The Katal are a Suryavanshi Rajput clan,Found in the region of Jammu And Punjab.
History:The Katal Clan is a Descent Raja Tarau,Karan,Sompal,Brishpat,Raja Kood,Raja Gora,Raja Shaikha and his son raja Jasrath.Possed Kharipur when they,driven from the plains of punjab by Mahmud of Ghazna,settled in Mangla devi,a fort in jammu.One descendants of Raja Karet,took to roobery in the forest near the town of Samba,and thence seized a Sambyal Girl,so her kingsmen give her a large tract of land in Shakargarh Tehsil( Pakistan).He Found the town of katli,and his descendants were called KATAL.The tribe found near 360 villages of which 100 are found in Gurdaspur and Narowal district and the remainder in Jammu.
